ODell Parks Jr.

ODell Parks Jr., lovingly remembered as “Bootie or Smooth”, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 46.  Born July 6, 1979 in Columbus, OH, ODell spent the majority of his life in Williamson, West Virginia, where he created lasting memories with his family and friends. 

ODell was preceded in death by his beloved son, Berkley ODell Taylor Parks; his father, ODell Parks Sr.; and his sister, Amber Parks. 

He is survived by his devoted mother, Pamela Parks; his children, Zamaria Parks, Storyé Parks, and Jasper Parks; and his siblings, Renee Hatfield of Williamson, WV, Teresa Hatfield of Charleston, WV, Suzann Sparks (Joshua) of Bridgeport, WV, Leandra Trammell (Forrest) of Logan, WV, and Matthew Parks (Taylor of Logan, WV.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. 

Known for his sense of humor and larger-than-life personality, ODell could light up any room.  He had a gift for making people laugh, carried a heart of gold, and his beautiful smile was unforgettable.  Loyal to those he loved and deeply dedicated to his family, ODell touched the lives of many with his kindness and spirit 

Funeral services to honor and celebrate ODell’s life will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Christ Temple Church in Williamson, West Virginia.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday at the church. 

ODell will be remembered always with love, laughter, and gratitude for the joy he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.
