Patricia Ann Blankenship

Patricia Ann Blankenship, 77, of Owingsville, KY formerly of Hardy, KY passed away Wednesday; January 7, 2026 at her home.  Born December 17, 1948 in Mingo County, WV, she was the daughter of the late David Jack and Betty Jane Kirk Russell. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her, Julie Ann Russell; her husband, Lloyd “Midge” Thacker; a son, Daryl Blankenship; a daughter, Neva May; a brother Jack Russell; and a special daughter-in-law, Rena Thacker. 

Pat was a longtime in-home caregiver, a homemaker, and of the Church of Christ faith. 

Survivors include her children, Anita (Tilden) Smith of Belfry, KY, Karen Bateman of Phelps, KY, Sara Blankenship (Earl Runyon), Crystal Tidwell (Henry Davis), and Mitchell Thacker all of Owingsville, KY; 3 sisters, Dorothy Scott, Ruthie (Steve) Hupp, and Faye Scherf all of Ohio; her grandchildren, Paige Smith, Charlotte Dotson, Nikki Sanders, Trish Leach, Tiffany Becraft, Anita Thornsberry, Shawnda Hatfield, Lorrie Armitage, Makayla & Madison Stigall, Kileigh Thacker, and Sean & Mikaela Dingess; 22 great-grandchildren and another on the way; her fur babies, Chica and Rebel; and a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday; January 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Rev. Michael Stanley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Saturday evening at the funeral home.
