Richard Eugene Morrison

Richard Eugene Morrison, 62, of Williamson, WV passed away suddenly Thursday, January 6, 2022 in the emergency room at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  Born August 17, 1959 in Wheelersburg, OH, he was the son of Willard Morrison of Wheelersburg, OH and the late Yvonna Gleim Morrison.

Richard was a retired railroad hostler.  He was well known for playing Santa during the holidays for several area families, fire departments, and other agencies.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Claudette Spence Morrison of Williamson, WV, one son, Derrick Morrison of Wheelersburg, OH; one daughter, Amy Klaiber of Wheelersburg, OH; 2 step daughters, Kirsten McCann of Williamson, WV and Tiffany Dawn (Chris) Osborne of Ellicotville, NY; three brothers, Dave (Angie) Morrison, Donald (Jackie) Morrison, and Michael Morrison all of Wheelersburg, OH; two sisters, Linda (Dick) Henderson and Helen (Daniel) Burchett both of Wheelersburg, OH; his grandchildren, Riley Osborne, Trynyty Osborne, Kaydance McCann, Caden Morrison, Keisha Morrison, Cole Morrison, and Kimberly Klaiber; one great-grandchild; his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Levon Spence of Delbarton, WV; a special cousin, Terri Morrison of Wheelersburg, OH; a special friend, Shirley Marie Jones of Gallipolis, OH, and a host of other family and friends.

In honoring Richard’s wishes, cremation will take place.  The family will receive friends for a celebration of Richard's life on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Williamson Community Center (by the swimming pool) in West Williamson, WV.
