Richard White, 68, of Naugatuck, WV passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his home. Born July 10, 1953 at Naugatuck, WV, he was the son of Gladys Perry Shadd of Naugatuck, WV and the late Elmer White Sr.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer White Jr., 2 sisters, Liddie Marie White and Gladys Irene Dempsey, his step-father, Charlie Shadd, his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Lydia Perry, his paternal grandparents, Ruben and Sarah White, and a step-son, Raymond Rice.
Richard worked for Asplundh for 27 years and Unlin Flooring for 12 years. He worked for Bob Brewer for 1 year and Bartly Tree for 1 year. Richard lived in Naugatuck all his life. He loved riding his 4 wheeler on Newsome Ridge and he loved deer and turkey hunting as well as fishing.
Richard was known by many as Papaw.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his girlfriend and caregiver Darlene Maynard of Naugatuck, WV, sons, Trevor White (Kaylee Hatfield) of Stopover, KY and Travis White (Paige Miller) of Nauatuck, WV, daughter, Jennifer (Larry) Dotson of Logan, WV, step-son, Dustin Maynard of Naugatuck, WV, 4 brothers, James White of Mount Olive, WV, Lewis Russell (Nettie) White of Delbarton, WV, David (Lisa) White of Naugatuck, WV, and Bryan (Haven) White of Naugatuck, WV, 4 sisters, Sarah (Luther) Adkins of Matewan, WV, Mary Hinkle of Ohio, Carolyn (Brad) Baize of Naugatuck, WV, and Melissa Jones of Lenore, WV, his grandchildren, Larry Dotson Jr. of Logan, WV, Raelynn White and Bryson White of Stopover, KY, and Derek Miller of Naugatuck, WV, 13 nephews, 6 nieces, his step-daughters, Mindi (Charlie) Johnson of Wayne, WV and Jessi Scott of Wayne, WV, step-grandchildren, Keaton, Kaden, and Kristian Johnson, Peyton Rice, Rayonna Rice, and Tamara Carter all of Wayne, WV, his ex-wives, Dreama Conn and Mary Ellen May.
In honoring Richard’s wishes, cremation will take place. There will be a graveside service at a later date at the Maynard Cemetery on Big Branch at Naugatuck, WV.
