Richard "Richie" Holt

Richard “Richie” Holt, 46, of North Matewan, WV passed away Monday, August 16, 2021.  Born January 22, 1975 in South Williamson, KY, he was the son of the late Virginia Ann Holt. 

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by Wilma Pruitt Holt, his grandparents, Glen “Pete” Holt and Samantha Bernice Hendricks Holt. 

Richie was a mechanic by trade and worked for many years for Kirk Trucking.  He loved ballgames and as a San Francisco 49ers fan.  He also loved spending time with his family and friends.  Richie was always be remembered for his comical antics. 

Survivors include his children, Zachary Holt of Morgantown, WV, Kayla Pruitt of Matewan, WV, Kristin Pruitt of Hurricane, WV, and Kiana Ferrell of Pikeville, KY, his brothers, Sam Holt and his wife Cindy and Glenn Holt and his wife Rhonda both of North Matewan, WV, his aunts, Alice Holt of North Matewan, WV and Sara Stell of Freeburn, KY, and 1 grandchild, Elijah Pruitt of Matewan, WV.  He also leaves behind a host of nephews, cousins, and special friends. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY.  Following the visitation a procession will depart to Richie’s final resting place for graveside committal services in the Merrimac Cemetery on Rt. 49 Merrimac, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
