Rosa Lee (Murphy) Hauck, 60, of Thacker, WV and South Williamson, KY passed away suddenly Sunday; March 29, 2026 in the emergency room at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY. Born July 14, 1965 in Mingo County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” and Helen May Murphy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Hauck; and her brother, Jimmy Murphy.
Rosa was a longtime employee of the Mingo County Board of Education serving as a cook at the Matewan K-8 School. Always with a smile on her face, Rosa loved to travel and was always cooking, not only at work, but at home. She always tried to make sure that the children at the school were taken care of.
Survivors include her fiancée, Brian Turner of South Williamson, KY; an uncle, Dean May of Thacker, WV; an aunt, Sherri Spencer of Thacker, WV; and a host of other family and friends.
In honoring Rosa’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial gathering will be announced at a future time to place her cremains with her family in the family plot in Thacker, WV.
