Rush Douglas Kennedy

Rush Douglas Kennedy, 71, of Beech Creek, WV passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 in the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center emergency room in South Williamson, KY.  Born November 29, 1951 in Mingo County, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest and Madeline (Cisco) Kennedy.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Bernice Cantrell Kennedy.

Rush was a former coal miner and was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Brandy Fajardo of San Diego, CA, a sister, Joyce (James Ed) Kennedy of Madison, WV, a brother, Ernie Kennedy of Williamson, WV, his grandchildren, Shelysa Austin, Dylan Fajardo, and Noah Fajardo, a great granddaughter, Ariel Fajardo, two nephews, Doug (Liz) Kennedy of Madison, WV and Eric Kennedy of Foster, WV, two great nieces, Kerston and Mallory Kennedy of Madison, WV, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Gary Starr, David Ferguson, and Gary May officiating.  Burial will follow in the Stringer Cemetery at Beech Creek, WV.  Active pallbearers will be Doug Kennedy, Eric Kennedy, Jacob May, Nathan May, Jimmy Kennedy, Gaylen David Cisco, and P.J. Stringer.  Honorary pallbearers will be James Kennedy, William Alley, Robbie Cooper, Chet Roberts, Bill Prater, and Boxer Prater.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
