Russell Catron

Russell Catron, 78, of Rainelle, WV formerly of Lenore, WV passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.  Born July 8, 1946 in Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late Russell Catron Sr. and the late Francis Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathryn Hodge Catron, a son, Dennis Ray Stroud, an infant daughter, Kathy Sue Stroud, granddaughter, Christine Ann Thornton, grandson, Bobby Ray Thornton Jr. and several brothers and sisters. 

Russell was a former truck driver, a minister, and a member of the Laurel Creek Freewill Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Stroud, Delina (Mikie) Bennett, and Loretta Stroud all of Rainelle, WV, a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and William White of Lenore, WV, 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Laurel Creek Freewill Baptist Church with James Ed Baisden and Cornelius Lackey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hodge Cemetery at Naugatuck, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Saturday for family and at 12:00 pm for friends at the church.
