Sheila Marie (Blankenship) Utterback

Sheila Marie Utterback, 64, of  Woodman, KY went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Born August 1, 1957 in Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Inis Compton Blankenship.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Utterback, a great-grandson, Cason Anderson, 4 brothers, Wade, Dallas, Roger Lee, and Ervin Blankenship, a step-brother, Marty Blankenship, sister, Brenda Sue Blankenship, step-sister, Maggie Dotson, nephew, Jonathan Justice, and a niece, Darla Justice.

Sheila was a homemaker and formerly worked as a CNA at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Phelps.  She was of the Pentecostal faith.  She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren which were her world, and she loved to read her Bible.

 Survivors include 2 daughters, Inis (Charles) Gearles and Heather Dotson both of Stopover, KY, like a son, Leonard (Teresa) Blankenship of Williamson, WV, her grandchildren, Jessica Utterback, Jennifer Chafins, Samuel (Wanda) Gross II, Madison Dotson, and Morgan Dotson, her great-grandchildren, Coltan Utterback, Caselynn Anderson, and Samuel Gross III; 2 brothers, Lawson Blankenship of Stopover, KY and Tobby Blankenship of Aflex, KY, a step-brother, Thomas Blankenship of Williamson, WV, 2 sisters, Macie (Rodney) Caudill of TN and Dorothy (Darrell) Justice of Majestic, KY; special friends, Brenda Gross, Katelin Gearles, Ernest, Lisa, and Caleb Lester, Mary Jo Blackburn, Della Acord, Nettie “NaNa” Ball, Anita “NeeNee” Blankenship, Gina and John Little, Allie Duty, and Katie Layne.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Woodman Community Church with Pastor Odis Blankenship and Bro. Buddy Gannon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery at Camp Creek; Argo, KY with Charles Gearles, Leonard Blankenship, Kevin Hunt, Chris Hurley, Caleb Lester, Ernest Lester, and other family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Monday and Tuesday at the Woodman Community Church with services nightly at 7:00 pm.
