Shelley Marie Prater Peck

Shelley Marie Prater Peck, 23, of Pigeon Creek, WV formerly living at Beech Creek, WV most of her life, left for her eternal home on Friday, May 19, 2023 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.  Born September 21, 1999 in Charlottesville, VA, she was the daughter of Kenny and Michelle Christian Prater of Beech Creek, WV.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Willie and Wanda Prater, Josephine and Ronnie Williams, and Jerry Prater, her aunts, Charlene and Teresa, an uncle Burl Prater, and her mamaw-in-law Glenna Warrix. 

Shelley was an employee of the Pikeville Nursing & Rehab Center, where she loved her residents and so many of her co-workers.  Shelley was a kind young lady who loved the outdoors, fishing, riding the trails, and being with her family and friends.  When Shelley loved, she loved with her whole heart and her smile would light up the room.

Those left to love and cherish her memory include her husband Austin Peck of Pigeon Creek, WV, her parents, Kenny and Michelle Prater of Beech Creek, WV, her siblings, Keith Dunn, Kenny Prater Jr. (Cassidy), Coby, and Addison all of Beech Creek; her maternal grandparents, Jerry Christian of Florida and Barbara Christian of Verner, WV, uncles, George Christian of Florida and Woody Prater of Princeton, WV, aunts, Tonya Prater of Matewan, WV and Lisa Wolford of Beech Creek, and may cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends.  Shelley had lifelong friends wo loved her like their own, Michael and Karen Mitchell along with Melissa Ellis, Erica Cline, and Aimee Mitchell, her best friend Chasity Robinette, her father and mother-in-law DJ and Danielle Peck of North Carolina, her grandmother and grandfather-in-law Dennis and Fran Peck, brothers-in-law Luca and Kaden Peck of North Carolina, sister-in-law Brooklyn Peck of North Carolina, her “baby boy” Gage (Sarah) Chambers, her fur baby Tyson, and other family of inlaws, Allen Warrix, Randy and Teresa Carter. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Belfry, KY with Bro. Archie Kevin Blankenship officiating.  Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery on Grapevine Fork at Beech Creek, WV.  Active pallbearers will be Kenny Prater, Austin Peck, Kenny Prater Jr., Keith Dunn, Mike Mitchell, Joey Mahon, Bogdan Komajda, and Boxer Prater.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Peck, Earl Prater, Bill Prater, Mick McCoy, DJ, Luca, and Kaden Peck. 

The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
