Stirl Hager, 77, of Ransom, KY passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. Born September 9, 1942 in Pike County, KY, he was the son of the late Dewey and Vicy Whitt Hager.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Charlie, and Willie Hager, and a sister, Norma Jean Dotson.
Stirl was a retired coal miner with 38 years of service. He was a member of the UMWA and he was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kim (Barry) May of Winslow, IN, a sister, Glenna Mae Dotson of Ransom, KY, his grandchildren, Tabitha (Nathan) Mitchell, Kassie (Trey) Spaulding, and Harley May, his great-grandchildren, Liam Mitchell, Oakley Mitchell, Trinity Mitchell, Rhett Spaulding, and Cyrus Spaulding. Also surviving his a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Jake Hatfield Cemetery at Ransom, KY with Bro. Mike Smith officiating and burial to follow with Barry
May, Harley May, Rick Dotson, Trey Spaulding, Nathan Mitchell, and Freddie Bowling serving as pallbearers.
