Vonna Odell (Stepp) Deskins

Vonna Odell Deskins, 97, of Hatfield, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  Born June 1, 1927 at Hatfield, KY, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Hazel Gillman Stepp. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Deskins, her three sons, Doug, Bryan, and Gary Deskins, a great grandson, and 3 sisters, Merthal Bevins, Martha Sartin Taylor, and Lassie Walters.

Vonna was a homemaker and a member of the Mary Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her sister, Louise Walters of Hatfield, KY, 2 granddaughters, Amy (Luke) Maynard and Andrea Deskins, 3 grandsons, Christopher Deskins, Kent (Jennifer) Deskins, and Jesse Deskins, 6 great granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, 2 daughters-in-law, Juanita Deskins and Kim Cochran, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Mary Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church with Elder Hobart Hamilton and other Elders of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fraley Cemetery at Hatfield, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel and after 3:00 pm Tuesday at the Mary Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church with services nightly at 7:00 pm.
