After a difficult and long battle with dementia and underlying health issues, our family regrets to announce the loss of our father and grandfather, William Clarence Hyden. William (Big Bill) passed from this life Tuesday, May 24, 2023. Born April 22, 1947, he was the son of the late George Lee Hyden and the late Nellie Mae Lyons. He is proceeded in death by both parents, his sister Reatha (Rush) Runyon and his stepfather Harold Dale Mutter.
Those left to cherish his memories, include his son William (Creeda) Hyden of McCarr, KY, his grandchildren Morgan Faith, Dylan Lee and Garrett Dalton. One great grandchild Grayson Lee Hyden, one sister Glenna (Eddie) Matney and a host of extended family. Also leaving behind some of his best friends you would never fail to see joining together for breakfast at Hardee’s every morning! A special mention of Jimmy (Sue) Hatfield that made sure he always had a home cooked meal.
For many years William worked as an electrician in the coal mines for Addington. He was of the Christian faith attending Hardy Church of Christ up until his last few years when he was no longer able to attend due to his health.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. David Lockard officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Hatfield Cemetery at McCarr, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Saturday evening at the funeral home with services at 7:00 pm with Rev. Carl Butler speaking.
